This Plantón Móvil was a walking prairie! It was made possible thanks to a big group of collaborators and the creativity of students at Hamline University. The green area planted included native species that will help filter pollutants from runoff before the water returns to the Mississippi.
Este Plantón Móvil fue una pradera caminante que fue posible a una grupo grande de colaboradores y a la creatividad de estudiantes de Hamline University. Las plantas sembradas fueron especies nativas quienes ayudarán a filtrar los contaminantes que las aguas pluviales recogen de las pistas y carreteras de la ciudad para que el agua pueda volver más limpia al río Mississippi.

The Walk/ El bosque
Members of the Environmental Studies program and partners in the Sustainability initiatives at Hamline University worked together to plant the Pierce Butler stormwater basin meadow. The transformation of this highway cloverleaf into a site for appreciating urban ecology and outdoor classroom involved a wonderful group of collaborators including neighbor Steve Mitrione who envisioned and championed the project via the Hamline-Midway Environmental Group for the past seven years. Valentine Cadieux and her sustainability students organized a Plantón Móvil to engage with the community and "develop a relationship to the plants to be welcomed into the neighborhood, and for building plant-human connectors that would both literally and figuratively support regenerative relationships being built with the formerly largely neglected site.”
Miembros del programa de Estudios Ambientales y de la iniciativa de Sostenibilidad de la Universidad de Hamline se unieron para sembrar el jardín de filtración de aguas pluviales Pierce Butler Storm Water Basin. La transformación de este trébol vial en un sitio para apreciar la ecología urbana que además se implementa como área de aprendizaje ocurre gracias a un grupo maravilloso de colaboradores incluyendo a Steve Mitrione, un vecino de la zona quien a través del grupo Hamline-Midway Environmental Group imagina este proyecto y trabaja para su realización durante los últimos siete años. Valentine Cadieux y sus estudiantes organizan un Plantón Móvil para involucrar a la comunidad y "para desarrollar una conexión con las plantas, darles la bienvenida al vecindario y para construir conectores humano+planta que literal y metaforicamente apoyen la regeneración de un vínculo con este lugar hasta entonces descuidado"
